EVENT INFORMATION

The CUPE BC One Big Committee Meeting (OBCM) will be held over two days from October 11-12, 2023. Due to ongoing strikes at the Sheraton Vancouver Airport, the OBCM will be held this year at the Sheraton Vancouver Guildford Hotel in Surrey, BC.

Please note that members are to only attend the OBCM on the day when their assigned committee is scheduled to meet. If you serve on more than one committee and your meetings are held on separate days, you will be asked to attend both days of the OBCM.

If you serve on more than one committee and both committees are scheduled to meet on the same day, please contact the Division Office (events@cupe.bc.ca) for coordination assistance.

All attendees are asked to register online by August 25, 2023.

CHILDCARE INFORMATION

​

CUPE BC will provide childcare on site at the OBCM for children aged 12 and under. Childcare applications will be accepted online until August 25, 2023.

​

TRAVEL & ACCESSIBILITY INFORMATION

​

Accommodations: Due to limited availability at the Sheraton Guildford, CUPE BC will prioritize hotel rooms for members traveling from outside of the Metro Vancouver region. 

 

If you reside in Metro Vancouver but require a hotel room, please follow the prompts under "Accommodations" on the OBCM registration site. You will be asked to provide a reason for your request and placed on a waitlist. 

 

Rooms at the Sheraton Guildford will be prioritized for out-of-town guests, and CUPE BC will endeavour to accommodate the stated preferences, needs and special requests of all guests, within the capacity of the venue.

Pet-Friendly Accommodations: The Sheraton Guildford Hotel has a pet-friendly policy allowing up to 2 pets (dogs only) upon provision of signed waiver. Please indicate as part of your registration if you will be attending with a dog.

​

NOTE: Guests attending with pets may be required to pay an additional Pet Fee at their own expense.

​

Extending Your Stay:  If you wish to extend your stay before or after the OBCM at your own cost, please contact the Division Office (events@cupe.bc.ca) after completing your registration.

​

Parking: All guests staying at the hotel will be provided complimentary parking (1 vehicle per room). To receive complimentary parking, please register your vehicle license plate at the Front Desk upon check-in. Additional vehicles are subject to the daily self-parking fee is $15.00 per night plus GST.
